Ep 147 - Batman, vol 5 - Rules of Engagement

This Week: When Catwoman accepted Batman's marriage proposal, she changed more lives than just Bruce Wayne's and Selina Kyle's. A union between the World's Greatest Detective and one of Gotham City's fiercest criminals is a shake-up that will rattle everyone in the Dark Knight's life--from the young vigilantes who make up his surrogate "family," to his legendary friends in the Justice League, to old demons he'd long hoped to leave behind.

Now Batman and Catwoman are on a quest for redemption--a mission deep into a forbidden desert fortress to evolve into something better before they say, "I do." Standing in their way is...well, everybody, including Batman's lethal ex-girlfriend Talia al Ghul.

From desert sands to boardwalk lights, will the Bat and the Cat's search lead them to happiness at last?

Find out in Batman Vol. 5: Rules of Engagement, a major new chapter in the lives of the Dark Knight and his feline fiancée from the acclaimed creative team of Tom King (Mister Miracle) and Joëlle Jones (Supergirl: Being Super), with guest artists Clay Mann and Lee Weeks!

“Boilermaker” is the succinct moniker for a shot (usually a shot of whiskey) and a beer. How you drink your Boilermaker is up to you: Drop the shot into a pint glass full of beer, alternate sips of the shot and beer, or take the shot and chase it with the beer. However you choose to consume it, the combo is undeniably one of life’s simplest pleasures and a great way to toast the end of a grueling work day. This week we are discussing 2002 Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia. From Greg Rucka and J.G. Jones, this book would begin Rucka’s long run writing Wonder Woman.  We changed up the format a little this week.  In part one we do a spoiler free intro to the book, then in part two we step thru the plot of the book and explore this gem.  Let us know what you think of the format change on our website, or any of our social media outlets.  Next week we are reading Hawkeye: My Life as a Weapon.  A modern take on what an Avenger does when he has no suit, no powers, and isn’t Avenging.
