  • 1-3 Slices of Jalapeño
  • 3 Slices Cucumber
  • 3-4 Lime Wedges
  • 2.5 oz Tequila, preferably Blanco
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • Salt
  • Rim with Old Bay

  • In a shaker, muddle lime wedges, jalapeños slices, cucumber slices, and simple syrup.
  • Add ice, tequila, and cointreau to shaker.
  • Shake for 20-30 seconds.
  • Pour salt onto a small plate.
  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of the martini glass.
  • Dip martini glass into the salt, you can use sugar here too if you prefer!
  • Strain contents of shaker into martini glass.
  • Garnish with a jalapeño slice and a sliver of cucumber.

If you only want a little heat, and a lot of citrus, use 1 jalapeño slice and more lime! To make the cucumber garnish, run a peeler along the entire length of a cucumber, fold accordion style and secure with a toothpick!

2 Dashes Cointreau
2 Dashes Amaretto
Lemon juice
Sage Leaves
4 Dashes of Current Bitters

This drink is a little bit of a mystery. Mainly because Todd never gave me the exact measurements.  It looks tasty, I'm not sure how much of what.  But please experiment, and if you find a good ratio, let me know.

A Cosmo

This week we stretch our feminist muscle with Bitch Planet.  We read the first collection of this current series by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Valentine De Landro.  It is both a feminist parody of exploitation films, specifically women in prison movies, and a great commentary on society.

1.5 oz Vodka
0.5 oz Cointreau
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1.5 oz Cranberry Juice
1 twist lime

Shake all the ingredients together with ice, and then strain out into a glass.

Todd was connecting with his inner "Sex in the City" gal when he picked this drink.  According to Q, Todd it a Carrie.
